Cauldrons for a Cause at the VPAC!

The Venice Institute for Performing Arts is thrilled to announce that we were able to stuff 15 Cauldrons full of art supplies, get well cards, painted pumpkins, and fun activities for children who will be spending Halloween in Sarasota Memorial’s Pediatric unit this year.  During Cauldrons for a Cause, a community event that raised money for The American Cancer Society’s Breast Cancer research fund while continuing VIPA’s mission of supporting performing arts education, community members came and enjoyed time celebrating the holiday while giving to those who aren’t able to participate this season!

With Donut Races, Monster Mash where the kids created their own fun monsters, pumpkin painting, games of limbo, halloween treats to eat, and even a giant pumpkin weighing in at 144 lbs, it was truly an event for the season. One lucky raffle winner received two tickets to see our December 9th production of “The Nutcracker,” and another received a 3-show package to VIPA’s winter season!

Donations for the event came from businesses and residents alike and included movies, princess tiara making, shirt painting, and other fun activities for the children in Sarasota Memorial Hospital.

The Institute would like to thank Kona Ice, Tijuana Flats, Detwiler’s Farm Market, Venice Arts Center, Publix, and the Venice Gondolier for their sponsorship and donations toward Cauldrons for a Cause. With your support, we brought the community together and has us looking forward to the future of this fundraiser. We hope to see everyone again next year!
