The Venice Institute for Performing Arts is pleased to present the Jive Aces featuring Makinna Ridgway on December 17th at 3pm. Renowned worldwide for their high-energy spectacular showmanship, their viral video “Bring Me Sunshine,” and for being the first live band to reach the final rounds of “Britain’s Got Talent”, the Jive Aces have firmly established themselves as the UK’s No.1 Jive & Swing band. This six-piece musical group brings the holiday classics to life with a jazzy twist that will be sure to get toes tapping. Walk through a winter wonderland and get your photo taken with Santa Claus, who will also be enjoying the show!

 

The in-demand sextet averages 300 shows a year and has worked with Van Morrison and Keely Smith, to name a few. They have also performed for Queen Elizabeth. The Jive Aces headlined and sold-out the Royal Albert Hall and thousands of festivals, theatres and dance halls in 35 countries, including Buckingham Palace for the Coronation Festival, Trafalgar Square for the Olympics and major theatre tours in the USA. They wowed the judges on Britain’s Got Talent with their show-stopping version of “I Wanna Be Like You”, which famously cheered up a grumpy Simon Cowell. Their BGT appearances were seen by over 20 million.

 

Their most popular music video, “Bring Me Sunshine”, is a viral hit with nearly 3 million views on Youtube and has won seven film festival awards. It’s so uplifting it’s actually been prescribed by a doctor! They’ve made hundreds of media appearances, including a residency on BBC Radio London and TV shows such as “The Alan Titchmarsh Show”, “Strictly Come Dancing”, “Children in Need” and “Good Day Los Angeles.”

 

Makinna Ridgway of the Satin Dollz will be joining the Jive Aces for their Swing’N the Holidays performance! Touring domestically and overseas, the Satin Dollz have performed on BBC Radio singing to over 20 million listeners with the Jive Aces and were featured on FOX’s Good Day LA Live for their smash ‘Toys for Tots’ holiday show where they collected over 400 toys for underprivileged children. The troupe has had the honor of performing on behalf of the Wounded Warriors Project, the USO, and Our Heroes’ Dreams and regularly enjoys entertaining our country’s military.
